Main Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automotive exterior components (e.g., bumpers, grilles, spoilers, and other exterior plastic parts) from concept phase through serial production.
- Create and modify 3D models and technical documentation using CATIA V5 and Siemens NX.
- Perform feasibility studies with a focus on injection molding technology and manufacturing requirements.
- Lead Design Reviews and oversee the implementation of engineering changes.
- Coordinate the work of the design team and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Collaborate with OEM customers, suppliers, and cross-functional project teams.
- Conduct tolerance analyses, GD&T evaluations, stack-up analyses, and support perceived quality requirements such as gap & flush.
- Support product validation, production launches, and technical issue resolution.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in automotive component design.
- Proven experience in designing automotive exterior parts, such as bumpers, grilles, spoilers, or other plastic body components.
- Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX.
- Practical knowledge of Injection Molding, DFM/DFMA, and plastic part design.
- Experience leading projects or coordinating a design team.
- Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and product development processes.
- Strong customer-facing and technical communication skills.
- Communicative level of English (minimum B2).
Nice to Have:
- Experience gained within OEM or Tier 1 suppliers.
- Knowledge of tooling processes and plastic part validation.
- Experience working on projects for premium automotive brands.
