Position We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of Automation & Controls Engineer for our client from the oil&gas industry.
Additional Information Location: Remote Travel: Approximately 15-20% throughout Sub-Saharan Africa
Offered salary Salary: from 15 000 to 16 500 PLN net/day, depending on experience and competences.
You’re ideal for this role if you:
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Have at least 3 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, software engineering, or subsea systems.
Have hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, or other industrial control systems.
Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Are comfortable working independently in an international and remote environment.
Are willing to travel within Africa when required.
Have a customer-focused mindset and strong communication and collaboration skills.
Can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of ownership, accountability, and attention to quality.
Nice to have:
Experience in offshore oil & gas, subsea production systems, or industrial process control.
Exposure to system integration, commissioning, or field service activities.
Knowledge of industrial communications, networking, and cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems.
Experience supporting brownfield modifications and operational assets.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Providing controls and automation engineering support for subsea projects and service activities.
Developing, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications.
Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and commissioning activities.
Assisting with software upgrades, system enhancements, and brownfield modifications.
Investigating and resolving operational issues through structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Providing technical engineering support to workshop, field service, and commissioning teams.
Participating in technical reviews and customer-facing engineering activities.
Helping ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of subsea control systems.
Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, service, project management, and customer organizations.
