We are looking for an experienced
Scheduling Specialist (Migration & Deployment)
to join an in-house technology consultancy of a global consulting firm on a
Permanent contract . In this role, you will take technical ownership of workload scheduling, migration initiatives, and deployment automation across critical enterprise mainframe platforms
(z/OS) . Working alongside distributed international teams, you will optimize batch scheduling flows, drive modernization from legacy engines onto
IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS) , and ensure rock-solid stability across high-volume environments. What You’ll Be Doing:
Taking end-to-end technical ownership of batch workload scheduling, definition, and deployment across
enterprise z/OS mainframe platforms. Leading and executing workload migration projects from legacy schedulers
(CA-7, CA-ESP, Control-M, Zeke)
onto
IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS). Architecting, refining, and automating complex
JCL streams , job dependencies, and execution calendars. Managing daily operations, job setups, and troubleshooting via
TSO/ISPF interfaces. Developing automation routines and operational scripts leveraging
REXX and Workload Automation Programming Language (WAPL). Monitoring batch health and job status using
Dynamic Workload Console (DWC)
to optimize flow performance and
SLA adherence. What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of hands-on experience within mainframe
z/OS environments specializing in workload automation and job scheduling. 5+ years of deep expertise with
IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS for z/OS) . Proven track record executing workload scheduler migrations
(CA-7, CA-ESP, Control-M, or Zeke to IWS/TWS). Consultant mindset: strong technical ownership, proactive troubleshooting skills, and the ability to guide project teams through complex deployment changes. Familiarity with project management practices and modern workload automation frameworks. Must-Haves:
5+ years of commercial
mainframe (z/OS) systems experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience with
IBM Z Workload Scheduler
(IWS/TWS for z/OS). Strong mastery of
JCL and extensive experience with TSO/ISPF. Fluent English for daily international collaboration. Location & Working Setup:
100% Remote working model (within Poland).
