The Innate Immunity Research Group

is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated

Postdoctoral Researcher to join the NCN OPUS 30

project

“Investigating the role of ILC2s in regulating blood vessels in melanoma,”

led by Dr. hab. Marek Wagner. Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) are emerging as important regulators of cancer immunity, yet we are only beginning to understand how they influence the tumor microenvironment (Wagner et al., Nature, 2025). Our project asks an exciting and largely unexplored question: Can ILC2s regulate the tumor vasculature and thereby influence melanoma progression and antitumor immunity? Bringing together cancer biology, immunology, vascular biology and bioinformatics, we will investigate how ILC2s communicate with vascular endothelial cells and how these interactions affect the organization and function of tumor blood vessels. Our long-term goal is to uncover new mechanisms of tumor–immune–vascular communication and identify potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets in cancer. Previous experience with ILC2s is not required. We welcome researchers from molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology, vascular biology and related fields who are excited to explore a new interdisciplinary research direction. Your role in the project: As a postdoctoral researcher, you will actively contribute to the scientific development of the project. Responsibilities

Designing and independently conducting experiments. Analysing, interpreting and integrating experimental and bioinformatic data. Actively contributing to ongoing research projects and scientific discussions. Preparing scientific manuscripts, reports and other research outputs. Presenting findings at institutional, national and international scientific conferences. Working closely with members of the research group and our national and international collaborators. Staying up to date with developments in cancer biology, immunology and vascular biology. Can independently design and conduct experiments and critically analyse and interpret results. Has excellent written and spoken English. Demonstrates strong analytical thinking, teamwork and time-management skills. Specific Requirements Experience with flow cytometry/cell sorting, molecular biology techniques, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence or other tissue-based approaches will be considered an advantage. Above all, we are looking for someone who is scientifically curious, independent, collaborative and motivated to develop new ideas.
