About The Company Vistra is a global business services provider that supports organizations operating across borders. Our services and technology help clients manage complex business requirements and deliver effective, reliable outcomes. Within our payroll services business, we combine a managed service model with a global payroll management platform designed to support a high-quality client experience. We are continuing to grow and innovate, building systems and services that help our clients and teams work more effectively. At Vistra, our people are central to that progress, and we are committed to creating an environment where they can contribute, develop, and make a meaningful impact.

About The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our Commercial and Product Department in Poland. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Product Development Manager, with regional responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to the continued development of our global payroll technology. You will design, build, maintain, and improve systems used by payroll teams to support accurate and timely service delivery. The role covers the full operational lifecycle, from data exchange and loading through processing, workflow management, status updates, and reporting. You will work across the technology stack, collaborating with product development, quality assurance, and internal users to turn requirements into secure, intuitive, and dependable software. The position can be performed remotely, with occasional office visits as requested by your manager. Where an office is available, team members may choose to work remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or from the office.

Qualifications You will bring professional experience as a Senior Java Developer or in a comparable role, along with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience building web-based Java applications. You should have practical knowledge of Java, Java Generics, object-oriented analysis and design, and frameworks such as J2EE, JSF, or Spring MVC. Experience with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and object-relational mapping is important, as is familiarity with source control, unit testing strategies, and multi-tier application architecture. Experience with Microsoft Azure is desired. A relevant bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, information systems, software engineering, or a related field is preferred. Experience in payroll, financial, or human capital management software would be an advantage. We also value clear communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, sound time management, and a practical, client-focused approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into design specifications and usable, maintainable code. Design, implement, test, debug, and support Java applications across the technology stack. Contribute to application architecture and database design where required, and ensure solutions are secure, efficient, and up to date. Review code and development approaches, recommend improvements to established processes, and use technology to improve operational efficiency for users. Prioritize and manage work throughout the development lifecycle, coordinate product releases with internal teams, and document design and development decisions. Collaborate with product development, QA, and payroll teams to deliver practical solutions that meet operational needs and provide a simple, intuitive user experience. Continue learning and identify innovative ways to strengthen our platforms and services.

Benefits Join a growing international business and contribute to technology that supports clients and payroll teams across regions. You will work with colleagues from different functions and locations, take on meaningful development challenges, and have the opportunity to expand your expertise in global payroll systems. Flexible work arrangements are available, with remote, hybrid, and office-based options where applicable. Vistra’s collaborative culture encourages professional contribution, continuous learning, and shared responsibility for delivering excellent service.

Equal Opportunity Vistra is committed to building a respectful, inclusive workplace where people can contribute and progress. We value diversity and welcome applicants with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Employment decisions are based on role requirements, qualifications, and business needs, without discrimination.
