About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Entra ID Architect to join a major international financial services organisation on a critical identity modernisation programme. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior IAM specialist to take ownership of a large-scale migration from Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to Microsoft Entra ID, helping shape the future of enterprise identity architecture within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will work closely with infrastructure, security, application, and architecture teams to deliver a secure, scalable, and resilient identity platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and migration strategy from ADFS to Microsoft Entra ID.
- Define target-state identity architecture, migration patterns, and integration strategies.
- Design secure authentication and federation solutions across enterprise applications.
- Establish security controls, governance frameworks, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with IAM, infrastructure, application development, and cybersecurity teams.
- Identify technical risks and ensure a smooth, low-risk migration.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across identity services.
- Oversee technical documentation and operational handover.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and enterprise IAM solutions.
- Proven experience designing and delivering ADFS to Microsoft Entra ID migrations.
- Strong knowledge of authentication and federation protocols, including SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale identity architecture and security controls.
- Strong understanding of Entra ID administration, automation, and integration.
- Experience working within complex enterprise IT environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of architectural decisions.
- Previous experience within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.
- Experience with hybrid identity environments.
- Knowledge of identity governance, conditional access, and modern authentication security.
- Experience with PowerShell and identity automation.
