Rate: €40-€70 per hour, depending on experience
The Opportunity We're working with a leading international organisation seeking an experienced Quantexa Data Engineer to join a growing data engineering team on a long-term contract.
This is an opportunity to work on complex, enterprise-scale data solutions, leveraging Quantexa's Decision Intelligence platform to help transform large volumes of data into actionable insights.
You'll play a key role in designing, developing and optimising scalable data applications, taking ownership of technically challenging projects while collaborating with engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain scalable data engineering applications using Quantexa technologies.
Lead the technical delivery of complex software components, ensuring performance, reliability and maintainability.
Work with large, complex datasets to support data processing, integration and analytics.
Investigate and resolve challenging technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
Produce detailed technical documentation covering architecture, development and implementation.
Collaborate with engineering, architecture and business teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, testing processes and overall platform performance.
Technical Requirements
Strong commercial experience with Quantexa and its Decision Intelligence platform.
Solid data engineering and software development background.
Strong knowledge of Scala and Apache Spark.
Experience building and optimising large-scale data processing pipelines.
Understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes and distributed computing.
Experience with SQL and complex data transformations.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and version control.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging and performance optimisation skills.
Ability to take technical ownership and collaborate across distributed engineering teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with entity resolution, network analytics or graph-based data processing.
Background working with financial services, banking or regulated enterprise environments.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or infrastructure automation.
Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading technical delivery.
