Odoo Functional Consultant / Business Analyst
Who is our client ?
We are a technology company helping small and mid-sized businesses run smarter through Odoo ERP. As a Gold Odoo Partner with more than 10 years of experience, we deliver full-cycleimplementations for international clients across Europe, the US, and Australia. Our team combines business analysis, project delivery, development, and QA expertise. We value ownership, practical thinking, collaboration, and solutions that create real business impact. What do we do?
We help clients improve and automate the processes behind their businesses through Odoo. Projects may cover sales, procurement, warehouse logistics, distribution, manufacturing, finance,eCommerce, and other connected operational areas. The work starts before configuration. We study how the client's business operates, identify bottlenecks and underlying problems, document AS-IS processes, define the desired TO-BE state, and determine how Odoo can support it. A successful ERP implementation should solve the client's real business problem - not simply reproduce the wording of a requirement. The Business Analyst connects the client's business with the delivery team. The purpose of the roleis to understand what the client truly needs, remove ambiguity early, and turn that understanding into a solution that works. This prevents misunderstandings from reaching development, where they become slower and more expensive to correct. Our approach combines business discovery, structured analysis, solution design, fit-gap assessment, documentation, and close collaboration throughout delivery. We prefer standard product capabilities when they meet the business need. Custom development is not the default answer: each requirement should be assessed against standard functionality, configuration, Odoo Studio, and development, with the recommendation justified by business value, cost, complexity, and risk. Who works for us?
You will work as part of a cross-functional delivery environment alongside Project Managers, developers, QA engineers, and other Business Analysts. You will also communicate directly with client stakeholders - from operational users to management. For project matters, the BA works closely with the Project Manager, while functional escalation may involve the BA Group Lead. The role has no direct reports, but it carries clear ownership for the quality and completeness of business understanding, requirements, acceptance criteria, fit-gapjustification, and functional closure in the assigned area. Why is there a vacancy?
We are looking for an experienced Odoo Functional Consultant / Business Analyst to strengthen the delivery team and take ownership of functional areas across Odoo implementation projects. This is a role for someone who can go beyond collecting requirements: understand the business behind them, challenge assumptions, recommend solutions, and stay involved until the delivered result matches the original business intent. Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a consultant who is equally comfortable speaking with business stakeholders and collaborating with a technical delivery team. You should be able to handle typical Odoo business scenarios independently, distinguish symptoms from root causes, uncover needs beyond declared requests, resolve contradictions before implementation, and make sensible clarification decisions within approved requirements. What professional skills are important to us?
Must have:
Strong experience as an Odoo Functional Consultant and/or Business Analyst; experience with at least 2 end-to-end Odoo implementations; Strong customer-facing experience: interviews, workshops, demos, expectation management, UAT, and training; Good functional knowledge across several business domains such as Sales, Purchase/Procurement, Inventory/Warehouse, Manufacturing, Accounting/Finance, Distribution, and/or eCommerce; Strong requirements elicitation and analysis skills, including the ability to identify gaps, contradictions, constraints, priorities, and the real business problem behind a request; Ability to document user stories, use cases, process flows, functional specifications, business rules, edge cases, and acceptance criteria clearly enough for implementation; Experience with AS-IS / TO-BE process analysis and solution design; Ability to perform fit-gap analysis and assess standard functionality, configuration, Studio, and development options; Ability to evaluate solutions in terms of business value, cost, complexity, feasibility, risk, budget, and timeline; Enough technical understanding to have meaningful discussions with developers and contribute to effort estimation; Ability to work independently in a consulting environment and take ownership of assigned functional areas; English at B2+ level. Great to have:
Strong Odoo Accounting / Finance expertise; Odoo Functional Certification; Experience with migrations between Odoo versions; Hands-on experience with Odoo Studio; experience taking over or rescuing existing implementations; Previous experience working for an official Odoo Partner; Experience contributing to presales and sharing product/domain expertise with a wider team. What will you do in the project?
Study the client's industry, operating model, key processes, bottlenecks, and business goals before and during discovery; Run stakeholder interviews, workshops, process observation, and analysis of existing systems and documentation; Document AS-IS processes, including inefficiencies, errors, time loss, and desired changes; Elicit, structure, prioritise, and validate functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, constraints, and priorities; identify conflicting stakeholder interests, contradictions, gaps, and ambiguity before implementation; Design improved TO-BE processes and recommend practical Odoo solutions; Perform and document fit-gap analysis for requirements: standard functionality, configuration, Studio, or development; Create clear user stories, use cases, process flows, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, decision logs, and change records; Agree proposed solutions with the client before implementation and keep documentation current throughout the project; Provide the PM with structured scope, estimates, risk signals, and scope-change information; Work closely with developers during grooming and implementation, explaining business context and resolving functional ambiguity promptly; Provide QA with business context and acceptance criteria, support defect classification, and participate in UAT; Manage client expectations, communicate limitations and risks early, and explain the impact of new requests on scope, plan, and budget; Train key users and support go-live, ensuring functional questions in your area are closed; Research new Odoo modules and functionality, follow product updates, and continuously develop domain and analysis expertise. What will you own?
Quality and completeness of business understanding; Requirements artefacts and acceptance criteria; Fit-gap justification and solution recommendations; Clarification decisions within approved requirements; Functional closure in your assigned area. You will contribute to solution design, estimation, risk assessment, development grooming, defect analysis, UAT, training, presales, and overall project delivery. You are not expected to act as a meeting secretary or a word-for-word translator between the client and the team; QA owns test cases except in exceptional, justified situations. What does success look like?
Developers can implement specifications without repeatedly returning for clarification of business logic; Requirements are complete enough that gaps and contradictions are resolved before implementation; The delivered solution addresses the client's underlying business problem, not only the literal wording of the request; Fit-gap decisions are documented; Standard product capabilities are considered before customisation; Scope creep is identified, documented, and routed through the Project Manager; Clients understand what is happening, what will be delivered, and when. Typical scenarios can be handled independently while knowledge and lessons learned are shared with the team. What conditions do we offer?
The role is based in Warsaw, Poland. Details regarding the employment model, work format, compensation, PTO, benefits, and equipment will be discussed during the recruitment process. Why consider this role?
This is not a role where you simply collect requests and pass them to developers. You will have the opportunity to understand how businesses actually work, influence functional decisions, challenge inefficient processes, recommend better solutions, and stay close to delivery from discovery through UAT and go-live. If you know Odoo, enjoy solving business problems, and want a consulting role where analytical judgment and ownership genuinely matter, this could be a strong match.
