Develop Automated API Tests
Create and maintain automated REST API tests using REST Assured and Swagger to verify application functionality and integration behaviour.
Validate API Responses and Contracts
Test and validate JSON and XML responses, implement API mocking, and perform contract testing to ensure reliable communication between systems.
Perform Database Testing
Prepare test data and validate database operations, ensuring data consistency and correctness across application workflows.
Test Microservices and Integrations
Verify microservices functionality and test integrations between applications to ensure reliable end-to-end communication.
Analyse Test Results and Defects
Review test execution results, identify and document defects, investigate failures, and support troubleshooting activities.
Maintain CI/CD Test Automation
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test execution to ensure consistent quality validation throughout delivery.
Contribute to Test Strategy and Planning
Participate in test strategy development, test planning, and test case design across the software development lifecycle.
Review and Improve Test Code
Perform code reviews and continuously improve existing automation frameworks, test scripts, and testing solutions.
Collaborate with Development Teams
Work closely with developers and other IT teams, participate in team meetings, and contribute to software quality improvements in an Agile environment.
Requirements
Good knowledge of Java 17+, including object-oriented programming, the Collections Framework, Streams API, and Lambda Expressions.
Automated Testing Frameworks
Hands-on experience with JUnit 5, TestNG, Mockito, and AssertJ or Hamcrest for developing and maintaining automated tests.
Web Application Automation
Practical experience with automated testing of web applications, including validation of functionality and application behaviour.
Spring Boot Testing Experience
Experience with Spring Boot and the Spring Test Framework in application development and automated testing environments.
REST API Testing Expertise
Experience with REST API testing using REST Assured and Swagger, including verification of API functionality and responses.
API and Data Validation Knowledge
Familiarity with JSON and XML validation, API mocking, and contract testing to ensure reliable data exchange between applications.
Database Testing Experience
Practical experience with database testing, data validation, and test data preparation for automated test scenarios.
Microservices and Integration Testing
Understanding of application integrations and experience testing microservices and communication between different systems.
Git and CI/CD Experience
Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipelines, including integrating automated tests and maintaining test execution workflows.
Docker and Build Tools
Hands-on experience with Docker and build tools such as Gradle in software development and testing environments.
Testing Methodologies and Communication
Understanding of test strategy, test planning, test case design, and defect management, with Agile/Scrum experience, good communication skills, and English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
