Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site AI Model Validation Specialist role based in Mumbai. The specialist will design and execute validation frameworks to assess AI and machine learning models for performance, reliability, fairness, and compliance with internal and external standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating test plans, developing evaluation metrics, performing data and model quality checks, and documenting findings and recommendations. The role involves collaborating closely with data scientists, ML engineers, product managers, and compliance teams to improve models, mitigate risks, and ensure responsible AI deployment. The specialist will also support continuous monitoring of models in production, contribute to validation tooling and automation, and prepare clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning concepts, and model evaluation methods (e.g., accuracy, precision/recall, AUC, calibration, robustness). Hands-on experience with data analysis and scripting using tools such as Python, R, or similar; familiarity with ML libraries and frameworks is beneficial. Ability to design and conduct systematic validation, stress testing, and scenario analysis for AI/ML models, including bias and fairness assessments. Experience working with version control, documentation, and collaboration tools commonly used in data and engineering teams. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex model behavior for both technical and business audiences. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear validation reports and present findings to stakeholders. Experience with governance, regulatory, or risk frameworks related to AI and data use is an advantage. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving AI technologies and validation standards.
